Because the Dalai Lama was born on a Saturday [ Saturn’s day] all the characteristics below become more powerful in their expression.
Destiny number 4 relates to both the North Node and Uranus in astrological charts. In the Dalai Lama's chart, Uranus rules the 9th house of religion and resides in the 11th house of groups, quite simply showing that his talent lies in liberating groups of people through his religious beliefs.
The North Node in the seventh house shows his life is dedicated to others, and his position as an authority figure is shown by the sign Capricorn.
Number four is not usually considered a very good destiny number, as it means the owner has to train themselves to compromise with the hardships brought on by the sudden changes in their lives. It appears that sudden life changes happen which permanently change the master plan of their lives, and life takes on an exhausting and degrading role of its former existence.
Even if surrounded by all the luxuries of life there is a feeling of missing what went before. There are often many chances to move ahead, but often they miss out on these chances through doubt and suspicion.
Destiny 4’s are burdened by heavy responsibilities and duties and have no other choice other than to carry them out. Blessed with a lot of stamina and strength, they continue, but as a result their labour is not rewarded.
Not only do they appear to receive no appreciation for their work, but they often have to face opposition and criticism, which results in making them feel even more suspicious and cautious. It will not be an easy life. He will experience great opposition and feel that his efforts are not appreciated; that he will face constant delays and obstacles in his work.
Dalai Lama = 54/9 relates to the planet Mars, which is not in harmony with the destiny number. It makes a person frank, expressive, creative and independent. It gives them a strong will and endurance to bear hardships and oppositions in life.
It brings fame, honour, prestige and recognition. It makes people work hard with no time for amusement or rest. In fact restlessness is what they present to the outside world.
They work to make better living conditions for others in the world. 9 could easily be the number of a spiritual master. 9 makes the destiny number 4 person more social. When connected to the benefit of humanity at large, it is an energy combination to be reckoned with.
Likewise a number 9 name becomes more creative with a 4 destiny number. Interestingly Mars is the weakest planet in HH's natal chart with a horary value of -10, but as numerology shows, 10 is the number of manifestation.
Mars rules the 11th house, indicating HH is born to be a leader of a group.
The Dalai Lama = 87/15/6 relates to the planet Venus, making a person sweet spoken, diplomatic, sensual and romantic. I’ve put h’s in front of HH's name, because that is another typical address.
6’s are friendly and gentle people, and 6’s are also good in the occult sciences. It makes a person co-operative, charitable and emotional.
Notes on the Psychic number, the day of birth--6th
People born on the 6th, 15th and 24th of the month like to do humanitarian service. They are artistic, generous, responsible, loving and are interested in home and family.
6 relates to the planet Venus, endowing a highly magnetic appeal to the person. These people often appear youthful and soft spoken.
Psychic six's attract members of the opposite sex easily. They are very social, love travel, and may journey to foreign lands, and in their lives they are always busy.

He is to travel and spread his teachings.
Soul Group Chart
To the esotericist, the Dalai Lama is a sixth ray master. The sixth ray principles are that of facilitating love principally to express devotion and idealism. In such a man the idealism becomes a vision, and we may expect that his natal chart will express fully the highest principles.
The soul group energy has the Dalai Lama as the last leader in his line. This means that he will experience all the change and the ending of the tradition passed down through his 14 predecessors. It will never be the same again.
Something new and better suited to humanity's new needs will emerge. The soul group are only interested in doing something that personally motivates them. The group gives their natives highly personalized goals.
The energy always stays with what is familiar, secure and known, and very close to home. There is a real love of the home and the very earth beneath.
The group energy bestows highly developed technical talents to its natives. In a fighting situation the native makes a formidable opponent, usually on the mental plane of thinking--physical expression is not the usual method. Although extremely competitive, this fighting is an art form.

The soul group energy had three fixed star placements which gives a further indication as to their purpose. The Fixed star Thuban conjunct the Vertex indicates that the group is assigned as protectors of the treasure, which in this case is wisdom and knowledge.
Arctaurus conjunct Neptune indicates the person is likely be an official in a society or group.
The MC with Antares-- this bestows great courage and success on the leader. The Soul group are technically proficient, and spiritually wise. Its chosen leader in the form of HH The Dalai Lama is born with great courage and is the protector of ancient wisdom.
His battles are fought in open society with well chosen words and a will of steel. Violence is not the way he wins, as he is a heavy weight passive speaker--he enlightens and raises the vibration of the people around him through his words, which is far more subtle.
Natal Chart
The Dalai Lama was born to fulfill a position as the spiritual leader of Tibet. His purpose was established right from birth, although at birth he may not have been immediately recognised, as he was born not in the monastery, but in one of the villages, the fifth of seven children.
His birth chart showed right from the start what a remarkable life he would lead. Would China's ‘war’ on Tibet show in his birth chart, and would the fact that he was born to be a great Buddhist leader also be obvious? The answer to it all is yes!
It is uncertain the exact time of the Dalai Lama's birth, but Lois Rodden's data bank has him born just before sunrise. The only way of accurately placing his time of birth is to rectify against times of change in his life. I have no means of doing that, but I suggest to anyone who wishes to do this, to try 7 degrees 30 seconds Cancer, as this has meaning in the soul group chart.
Intuitively, I would go with 4 degrees 16 Cancer. But as 9 degrees 57’ is generally agreed, I will use this.
Immediately looking at HH's chart we spot the final dispositor in the 12th house. [Mercury] This indicates that he will live the end of his days in exile from Tibet.
Houses 5 and 11 are intercepted. As one of the intercepted signs is Scorpio, it can be said that he will face aspects of ‘war’ within his life, which will bring about great change.
And the other intercepted sign, Taurus, is ruled by Venus. HH's life path is ruled by Taurus and the planet Venus.
We immediately can see that his life path is of great importance. His outward expression is Taurus in the eleventh house. It is from this eleventh house that he announces to the world ‘who he is’. The eleventh house represents members of a group, one of spiritual visions, who is of service to humanity through communication. This is the highest expression of the house.
It announces him as a spiritual leader. The fifth house in balance shows the creative actualisation of the higher self to serve. He is the Buddhist leader, the highest manifestation of spirituality and his purpose is to ‘lead the group’.
Traditionally Taurus is ruled by the fourth ray Venus, but for Soul purpose it is ruled by Vulcan on the first ray, the destroyer of form.
Again his life path is announcing that his life will bring change to Buddhism. Intercepted Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto, and from a soul perspective, the sixth ray Mars. [Devotion and idealism]
6 ray signs are Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. In HH's chart, these signs rule certain houses; the fourth house is Virgo, [Homeland, tradition, the collective experience of the race, land, property, and it also represents those who oppose the government],
the sixth house represents service and is the sign Sagittarius, which takes on wise co-operation, focused service [‘servants’ of HH, his associate monks, his companions]
and the tenth house of leadership and power is Pisces, interpreted as ‘spiritual power’.
Immediately we can see that there are going to be changes made to his life that affect his homeland, the land and property itself, in the everyday life and interaction with his order, and his associates; also that his position as spiritual leader is going to change.
Looking at his life path only--this is fixed and gives a good indication as to how he will deal with the changes brought upon him. HH instinctively needs other people to respond to him.
He could not live insulated against life, like the other Lamas prior to himself. He could not exist in seclusion. He would become ill.
Instinctively he knows how to improve any state of affairs. In order to grow and establish himself he has to face a new civilization; yet he greatly appreciates the traditional side of society and the past way of ‘doing things’; [Taurus] yet he is separate from it.
His life is to be one of adventure, which is not solitary; he is to introduce society to new experiences. He is to be ‘Hands on’.
Already we can see that there are changes to his homeland and that he is introducing himself to a new society. Without really interpreting much from his chart, it can be seen that war comes to his homeland and he is chased out to start somewhere else and introduce himself to that society.
It is the externalisation of his knowledge and wisdom to the world. [Nothing else would get him out of Tibet.]
We can see China in his chart shown by Mars in Libra, in the 4th house. Mars rules Scorpio, and the threat of war, but as we all know, this was planned.
In the bigger scheme of things, the Dalai Lama had to be externalised to the world; it is the appropriate time. China was just playing their role in the externalisation process.
In the new energy of the planet, his knowledge and wisdom is to be externalised. Like other great people, who are leaders, their natal chart takes on a mundane perspective of the country they represent.
Mars in Libra in the 4th shows the invasion to the homeland, n Mars is trine n Chiron, square n node and square n Sun. Mars is also contraparallel Neptune.
The Chiron trine shows HH's ability to speak on behalf of others. This he obviously tried to do with China, but China wanted him out personally [square Sun] to stop his spiritual influence [contraparallel Neptune], and influence over the people [square N node]. It was personal!
He knew that, for whatever reason. His life path ruler Venus, is conjunct the fixed star Regulus. He would be successful if he avoided reacting to the hurt he felt and take revenge. This he did.
He took the short lived opportunity of the fixed star ‘Procyon’ conjunct Pluto, and escaped. See how the war was predicted with the intercepted Scorpio, but a solution of opportunity was given with it.
He has marvellous instinct/intuition through his life path. He had to get out or become ill in solitary confinement. The most marvellous highest expression of Taurus is the ability to ‘resolve conflict’.
A less noble spirit may have wanted to fight back, but that would have been his downfall, and we see him today spreading his wisdom, which deals mostly with conflict; be it inner conflict or between opposing factions.
What brings misery? Conflict--what stops joy? How can life become peaceful? He has all these answers, and his mission is to spread the word.
His Ascendant is Cancer, the nurturing sign, with an affiliation to the fourth house--homeland, driven to do something about Tibet’s situation, but Cancer in its highest manifestation is wisdom and knowledge, and this is what he gives to the world while seeking help.
The Dalai Lama's time of seclusion has changed, the role now has to be worldwide. The change will also be seen in the 10th house of Pisces, stating quite firmly ‘world spiritual leader’ for Buddhism.
His final dispositor is Mercury in Gemini in the 12th house. Unfortunately it shows he will end his life in exile, with his hope of ‘going home’ unrealised--a sacrifice.
Chiron is in parallel with Mercury, but let's look at Jupiter. Representing his faithful monks and wise companions, it is in the 5th house of creativity, ruling the sixth house, showing great support.
Jupiter is conjunct the fixed star ‘Zuben Algenubi’ which represents positive social reform, and so it tells us that this is for the good. Jupiter has a trine to Saturn--security, trine to Sun and Ascendant, and sextile to Moon and Neptune--perfect support for his ministry [trine Saturn in 9th house of religion], excellent advice from his fellows [Jupiter trine Ascendant] excellent popularity [trine Sun] and excellent means of spiritual communication to the masses. [Moon, Neptune in the 3rd house]
Let's look at HH's Sun sign, conjunct the fixed star ‘Sirius’--the mundane becoming sacred. It indicates that his work will become far grander than he ever imagines it would, far reaching too, all over the world.
The fixed star Zosma, ’a victim or a saviour’ conjunct his Moon, actually depicted what life he could choose, by escaping he became a saviour for the people.
Chiron conjunct the fixed star Diadem ‘to sacrifice oneself’ in the 12th house, confirms his act of sacrifice for his homeland.
Looking to the 11th house again we see Uranus in Taurus, ruler of the eighth and 9th houses. It confirms that HH is here to transform and to teach Buddhism as the leader.
As Uranus is trine his life path planet Venus, it shows it is in sympathy with his purpose. The other Venus aspect, a semi-square to the Sun conjunct Sirius, shows his life path to give huge results, worldwide results, because Pluto is also Parallel the Sun.
He will be able to promote himself on a world wide basis. The natal chart shows HH to be a gifted healer, but most of all his great gift lies in raising peoples' consciousness.
The miracle he performs each day is to solve the conflict in peoples' hearts. Look to the 11th house where his life path expression is. It's in the 11th house, intercepted and occupied by the natural ruler of the house, Uranus--the gift of intuition, in trine to his life path, rules the 8th and 9th. He can transform peoples' consciousness. That is the miracle he performs. He is the ultimate lighthouse.
