Nakshatras

These Moon cycles are part of the Vedic astrology system, and are aligned with a sidereal Zodiac [subtract approx. 24 degrees from the tropical]. They reveal such a massive amount of information that to not use them is a handicap. Basically it is a system comprising of 28 lunar mansions, which fall upon the backdrop of the star systems, and the fixed stars play a role in the understanding of each particular nakshatra, as well as the relationship to the Sun and the other planets.

Each Nakshatra rules over 13 degrees 20 minutes [27 x 13.3 = 360 degrees], and India is the main indicator of personality type, [in the west it is the 12 “sun signs”] The 28 Nakshatras cycle takes 120 years to complete. Each Nakshatra has a myth and archetype and is associated with a particular god or godess, and a planet, is male or female, a specific symbol represents each nakshatra.

The Nakshatras represent the fields of activity to where the creativity is directed, so in many ways they could be seen as opening doors of potential, and showing where a person is directing their energies.
