Sunspots

The Sun reverses the orientation of its magnetic field every 11 years, creating a 22 year solar cycle, since Sunspots, prominences and flares are all largely magnetic phenomena, they all reflect this cycle, i.e. a number of sunspots rises and falls in the 11 year period. The maximum number of sunspots typically occurs 2 or 3 years prior to the polarity reversal.

The physics

The sunspot cycle is likely to be caused by the interaction between the 'dynamo' which generates the Sun's magnetic field and the Sun's rotation. In other words;

The suns differential rotation causes sunspots to occur. i.e.

  • At 30 degrees north or south of the equator, it takes 27.5 days for the photosphere to rotate once. Thus this part of the photosphere rotates 365/27.5 = 13.3 times around in a year.
  • At the equator, it takes 25.0 days for the photosphere to rotate once. Therefore this part of the photosphere rotates 365/25.0 = 14.6 times around in a year.
  • Therefore the equator moves 14.6 - 13.3 = 1.3 times around relative to the area at 30 degrees.
  • Which causes quite a magnetic tangle in the 5.5 years from a sunspot minimum to a sunspot maximum.
  • Sunspots come in pairs, as in opposite polarity and usually lie East-west.

Daily sunspots vary between 0- 200 or more.

They appear in the latitudinal bands about 40 degrees either side of the solar equator. One series begins in the northern hemisphere and works down across the solar equator to a position about 40 degrees latitude, with the next series starting at this southernmost point and moving back up. Differentiating one sunspot or cluster of sunspots from another is not easy.

Sunspots are like solar explosions, as big as 50,000 miles across, which appear as dark blotches on the surface of the sun.

During solar eruptions ultra-violet radiation, electro-magnetic waves, and electrically charged particles are spewed out into the solar wind, reaching the earth within a day. This bombardment of the earth causes magnetic storms, aura borealis, and fluctuations in atmospheric pressure and electricity and variations in positive and negative ionization.

During the peaks solar ultraviolet radiation produces the highest ionization densities. It also increases the number of thunderstorms, cyclones and earthquakes and may be related to global warming and cooling. Solar flares have knocked out satellites, telephone and power systems and interfered with computer systems.

Increases in admissions to mental hospitals and in traffic and industrial accidents have been linked to the occurrence of solar flares.

The ancient Maya were very concerned with Sunspots; they appeared to understand the 22 year cycle and 11 year half cycle. They also noted the larger cycles which formed part of the Sun spot cycles.

They were very concerned with the periods which lacked Sun Spot activity, and what it meant to humanity, they etched their experiences onto walls and in stone carvings, for future generations to witness.

The Mayans experienced a long period on zero sunspots, and their carvings showed how fertility dwindled and the children who were born, were born small and deformed. Not only were their less children, but the crops and hence food became scarce due to the changing weather conditions, the fewer sunspots coincided with colder weather and volcano activity.

Financial

Crop success

From an article in New scientist, 18 11 2004; “Periods of low sunspot activity corresponded to peaks in the price of wheat, indicating a lower crop yield. This backs the idea that the solar cycle affects climate and crop yields on Earth, possibly by changing levels of cloud cover.”

Today the sunspots are observed by the financial astrologer, and are watched closely as they give trends in the financial market, the trends do not necessarily indicate how the money will flow [that is down to the astrology aspects], but showing the attitude of optimism and defence attitudes.

When the sunspots are low or zero, there is great optimism, people do not scrutinize and delve into purchases, they may buy and reflect on the wisdom of it later.

Low sunspot activity has “the Jupiter effect” in hard aspect to itself, caution is blown to the wind and the desire for the experience is all important.

People born at the time of low sunspot activity, have great optimism, Tony Blair was born at low sunspot activity and is ever the optimist, in contrast George Bush was born at a time of 120 sunspots and has a protection mechanism in his thinking.

Hitler was born at a time of zero sunspots and Churchill’s was also low, what both men had in common were their feelings of unrest, vision, optimism and desire to win.

Warring fractions

Sunspots give off solar flares that increase negative ionization on earth--and negative ionizations increases human excitability and activity.

During World War I, A. L. Tchijevsky, a Russian professor of Astronomy and Biological Physics who continued his studies at the war front, noticed that particularly severe battles regularly followed each solar flare during the sunspot peak period of 1916-17.

To test his hypothesis that sunspot cycle influenced human activity, Tchijevsky constructed an Index of Mass Human Excitability covering each year form 500 BC to 1922 AD. He then investigated the histories of 72 countries during that period, noting signs of human unrest such as wars, revolutions, riots, expeditions and migrations, plus the numbers of humans involved. Tchijevsky found that fully 80% of the most significant events occurred during the 5 years of maximum sunspot activity. (Tchijevsky's merely noting that the 1917 Russian Revolution occurred during the height of the sunspot cycle earned him almost 30 years in Soviet prisons because his theory challenged Marxist dialectics.)

Tchijevsky divided the eleven year sunspot cycle into four social periods:

  1. Approximately 3 years, minimum sunspot activity Peace, lack of unity among the masses, election of conservatives, autocratic, minority rule.
  2. Approximately 2 years, increasing sunspot activity Increasing mass excitability, new leaders rise, new ideas and challenges to the elite.
  3. Approximately 3 years, maximum sunspot activity. Maximum excitability, election of liberals or radicals, mass demonstrations, riots, revolutions, wars and resolution of most pressing demands.
  4. Approximately 3 years, decreasing sunspot activity. Decrease in excitability, masses become apathetic, seek peace.

Next year [2007] is predicted as being a solar minimum.

Today [7, 2, 2006] marks the 9th day of zero sunspots, we have seen Muslim riots in the UK and elsewhere. It is quite likely that the sunspot activity will predict further incidents of a similar nature. But according to Tchijevsky it is just a lack of unity between the masses.

Health changes

The peak of high and low sunspot activity is also related to “changes in patients” conditions, usually the low is associated with a weak or depleting vitality, while high levels of sunspots can show a renewed vitality and breakthroughs and recovery in illness. Low sunspot activity and in the opposite hemisphere to the sun, show very low vitality and bring anxiety.

Times of hormonal imbalance, due to the pituitary gland.

Radio interference

At times of low sunspots radio waves are at their clearest, and high sunspot activity is a time of high interference.

It is said that those travelling on an aircraft during high sunspot activity, experience the equivalent of an x-ray during their journey.

Earth changes

There is a correlation between sunspots, earth movement and volcanic eruptions and earthquakes.

Weather

On the 6th of July 2004 a BBC report noted that there were more sunspots than anytime in recorded history of 1000 years, it says that over the last century the number of sunspots rose at the same time that the Earth's climate became steadily warmer.

Sunspots have been monitored on the Sun since 1610, shortly after the invention of the telescope. They provide the longest-running direct measurement of our star's activity.

The variation in sunspot numbers has revealed the Sun's 11-year cycle of activity as well as other, longer-term changes.

In particular, it has been noted that between about 1645 and 1715, few sunspots were seen on the Sun's surface.

This period is called the Maunder Minimum after the English astronomer who studied it.

It coincided with a spell of prolonged cold weather often referred to as the "Little Ice Age". Solar scientists strongly suspect there is a link between the two events - but the exact mechanism remains elusive.

Over the past few thousand years there is evidence of earlier Maunder-like coolings in the Earth's climate - indicated by tree-ring measurements that show slow growth due to prolonged cold.

In an attempt to determine what happened to sunspots during these other cold periods, Dr Sami Solanki and colleagues have looked at concentrations of a form, or isotope, of beryllium in ice cores from Greenland.

Chart implications

My own findings have shown that many clairvoyants are born at times of low sunspot activity, and those who are considered geniuses, undoubtedly it is a time of intuition and knowingness.

Height can be predicted from those with a Venus life path, and to some extent minor deformities.

It shows an attitude to life, like optimism and protecting ones own.

It is a clue to health and vitality throughout life. High sunspot activity protects.

Leaders emerge or are born when Sunspot activity begins to rise quickly, those who bring in new ideas to put into practice, those who take on challenges, these people who push the evolutionary advances.

Revolutionaries, or interferers in others affairs are born at times of maximum sunspot activity, those seeking to promote change, liberal minded people.

Decreasing sunspot activities indicate the birth of an innovator, those who can change lemons into lemonade, and those who give aid, have peaceful missions and humanitarian objectives.

Those born at low sunspot activity times are generally discontent in some way and seek out and explore, have low vitality, they are the observers, the assessors.

Why deformities occur during zero Sunspot activity

The relationship that I have never seen written about before is the Sunspot relationship with Venus; Venus requires sunspot activity to function fully in a chart.

Without sunspot activity all that symbolises Venus in a chart ‘fails’, the “attraction” which makes things happen is just not there.

Venus rules over the pituitary gland in the human body, the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus work as a team. So it could be said that Venus rules over the hypothalamus too.

The pituitary gland and the hypothalamus act as a unit, REGULATING the activity of most of the other glands, especially hormones which effect the breasts, ovaries and testis, the thyroid and also Pituitary is also known to be associated with the GROWTH hormone. This is why so many deformed babies were born during the lack of sunspot activity.

Sun spot activity is essential for human reproduction.

Those people whose life paths have Venus as planetary rulers will often be either tall or very short. And sun spot activity during the gestation time will have a say to which it will be.

Do not look directly at the Sun, the sun emits visible light but also a powerful ultra violet light, that causes damage to the retina of the eye.
